There are three lively MZR aluminium 4-cylinder petrol engines to choose from – 1.8-litre, 2.0-litre and 2.3-litre versions, the 2.0 and 2.3 having a Variable Intake System (VIS) and Sequential Valve Timing (S-VT) to improve performance and economy. Two turbocharged 2.0-litre MZR-CD diesel engines complete the powertrain line-up – a high-power version, delivering increased torque, and a low-power version for even greater economy. Both come with a Diesel Particulate Filter as standard. As well as the 5- and 6-speed manual transmission, a newly-developed 5-speed Activematic transmission is available for the 2.0-litre petrol engine, offering both manual and automatic modes.
